Sewing Tidbits

I am reactivating this page. It has been laying dormant for a few months while I have been working on other things. I haven't really put any sewing tidbits together as of yet but I think I will be working on this page again.

Here I will be telling some humorous stories that I have picked up along the way. Things that have happened to other sewers as well as myself. I hope you find them as cute and funny as I. If you have anything that you would like to share with me, please e-mail me. I would love to hear from you. Thank you.

Like all proper young ladies (of my era) just going into high school I took Home Economics. I was going to learn to cook and sew in these classes, well somewhat. Thank heavens my mother is an excellent cook because I never could get my popovers to come out right. All of my cooking skills I learned at home from my mom. But sewing was a different story. I really thought I wanted to learn. My first (and last) project turned out to be pillow cases. Now I wouldn't say I was the worst sewer in class. There was one or two boys that couldn't even thread the needle, but I did come in a close second. I never did finish those pillow cases and I think my mom still has them someplace.
No one ever told me that it takes patience to do any of that domestic stuff...and I soon found out that I had no talent or patience for it.
Now that was over 30 years ago. Two years ago I made my daughters wedding dress. I love to sew now (age has given me the patience for it.)

Please let me know if you have any cute little tidbits such as this. I would love to post them here.
