Hi

My problem is that I my penis is slightly crooked(to the left) I wonder if this is because of bad masturbation technique or is it just natural? Thanx....

It's just nature, nothing to do with masturbation, everyone is different.

Stan

It is usually due to just natural variance. Sometimes it is caused by the scar tissue from the circumcision. Either way it is usually not anything to worry about and most people probably would never notice unless you point it out.

Amy

Hello. I've got sort of a weird question here, but I assure you that even if you think it silly, I am worried about it and would really like an awnser. I masturbated once in a hotel shower [into a washcloth] I left the washcloth in the shower afterward. Soon thereafter I checked out. I am worried that there is the possibility that the housecleaning woman picked this up and somehow got pregnant from it. Could this be? When I see this all written down here I realize that the odds must be very slim, but I would just really like to put my mind at ease- I have been obsessing about this for some time now. Do I have to worry about things like this? How long do sperm live for, and theoretically when can they get someone pregnant? I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't post this.

thanks very much

She's not pregnant. Trust me. For starters, she would have to have gotten the washcloth immediately following your check out, then shoved it up her vagina....this is probably unlikely. Even then, it would still be a low chance that she would get pregnant. If you don't have sex with someone, and if you don't place your semen immediately at the outer edge of her vagina at worst, then she won't get pregnant.

Stan

I think you are safe. For the most part sperm die when they come into contact with air. For her to get pregnant she would have had to gotten the wash cloth immediately and put it in her vagina. And even if she did that there would still be a slim chance. Most of the time people get pregnant from direct sexual contact and not semen left over somewhere. Hope that makes you feel better.

My ex-boyfriend and I haven't had sex in 4 months, but 3 weeks ago I had sex with someone else. Now my boyfriend and I are gonna have sex again, so how do I turn this 3 weeks into 4 months worth of tightness? I've had my period, and I douche, and I do the muscle exercise. is there anything else I can do to make it tighter? Please help I want to stay with my boyfriend this time.

You have more to worry about then the tightness of your vagina. Most likely, he will absolutely not notice if you haven't had sex in 4 months, so don't worry about that. But you really need to ask yourself if you are ready for a committed relationship and to be with this person for the rest of your life without being with anyone else. Good luck.

Stan

Your vagina is not going to stretch out from having sex. This is common misconception. The tissue that the vagina is made from is very elastic. The problem that you have is that you need to tell your boyfriend that you were unfaithful. If you don't tell him that then you will never have a healthy long lasting relationship. You owe it to him.

Dear Stan and Amy, im 14 and as of a few days ago it has been impossible for me to get an erection, is there some sort of disease or something causeing this? i dont even have the usual erection when i wake up in the morning. does marijuana cause this? Or could it be a side effct to a anti biotic i too a few times?

Thanx

Well, first of all, yes, this can be a side effect of pot. You see, this is why you aren't supposed to take it. There is a reason it is illegal. other than the whole brain cell thing and impaired motivation to succeed in the world it isn't too kind to your penis either. You should quit the pot and only take antibiotics when prescribed by the doctor. By the way, pot is especially dangerous at your age. It usually leads to even more deadly drugs.

Stan

I think marijuana could cause this. Despite what people like to believe marijuana does have adverse effects on brain cells and sexual performance. I think not being able to get an erection is the least of your problems until you stop using narcotics.

HELLO STAN AND AMY,

Im an 18 year old male with an uninformed mind. Maybe you guys can help me with my question.Me and my girlfriend have been having oral sex because we are both saving ourselves for marraige. Ive givin her oral sex about 5 times. She loves it and achieves an orgasm within a couple of minutes!! Well, the last time i performed it was different. She wasnt very wet at all, just moist. And instead of lots of clear fluids, it was a little bit of white creamy fluid (seemed thicker than semen). It tasted really nasty, and it stung my tongue when i touched it (yuck!). Her labia minor also looked a bit different (a little inflamed, spongy like?). Do you know what the white fluid was? She reached climax as usual, but im just concerned because that was really different. She did take antihistamine that day because its allergy season here, and i know that can explain why she wasnt as wet. I fingered her this evening but i did not take her panties off. She was really wet, and im not sure if the white stuff was there, but i did see traces of white powder on my fingernail later. I dont know if that was the stuff though. Please help me, im deeply concerned about my girlfriends health because she is a vegetarian. Thank You, and keep up the awesome work.

If I had to guess, I would guess that your girlfriend had a yeast infection. I'm sure she's noticed it if she does, and if this is the case, then it will either go away or she should get it treated. It could have been a couple of other infections as well, but most likely it's nothing serious. Talk to her about it, and your concern and see what she says. As for her antihistamine, I'm not sure if that was the cause, but it's relatively possible. I'd bet more on just a chance infection. Let us know how it goes.

Stan

Well, she may have developed a yeast infection. It takes on a white color, and usually has an odor with it. I'm not sure about taste. If it is a yeast infection it would probably itch and be uncomfortable to her. If it is a yeast infection then there are over the counter medications that can help that. I'm not sure other than that what it would be. I do know that sometimes women can have a change in their discharge, but I'm not sure what the cause of that it. If it doesn't go away on its own I suggest that she see a doctor because then they can properly diagnose it.

can pre-teen boys have wet dream my best friend told me that his little brother that he had a wet dream and i was just wondering if this was posibale

It's possible. Everyone matures and advances at different rates than everyone else. It is not unheard of for a child to mature before his teen years to be able to produce "wet dreams." Some boys however might not have them until they are 14 or 15 years old. Or maybe never at all. It just depends on the person.

Stan

I've never really had to investigate that, but I would assume it was possible, depending on how pre teen he is. But I bet Stan is a better expert on wet dreams.

I am a male who is experiencing hair loss and wondered if swallowing ejaculate could accelerate this process because of testosterone in the semen? I also have a healthy sex drive and wonder if that could also have an effect? (FYI I am taking Propecia and have experenced no ill effects but do not wish to "counteract" the drugs effects).

signed, concerned

I have never heard that swallowing ejaculate could accelerate hair loss. Maybe if you injected testosterone directly into your blood it could, but I just can't imagine that this would happen. A healthy sex drive is also not gonna affect your hair loss. This kind of stuff is for the most part purely genetic. I'd continue to fight it with medication and if you are really concerned about this, you could always ask your doctor. It's what he's there for.

Stan

Male baldness is caused by genetics relating to the mothers father. I have never heard that ejaculate, or high sex drive could make someone lose their hair. I would quit worrying so much about things that probably have nothing to do with your hair loss, it seems to me that you might be wanting this to be the cause of your hair loss so that you have a reason to quit participating in these activities.

Hello I have a couple of worries~ 1 is my boyfriend cums on me and it gets on my stomach and around my vaginal area: is pregancy still an issue? 2 What if my boyfriend hasn't came yet but there is a slimmy covering on the outside of the penis and he puts the penis by my vagina:preganancy still an issue?

PLEASE HELP

~Worrie

The chance may be remote, but I wouldn't do that on a regular basis. Be extremely careful from now on. On your second question, any time he puts his penis into your vagina without a condom there is a chance for pregnancy, he does not have to ejaculate believe it or not. The slimy covering on his penis, is most likely semen. If so, yes you can get pregnant. I hope you don't worry yourself too much, I'm sure everything will be fine. Just learn from your mistakes and move on. Let us know....uh..how everything goes. : ) keep your chin up.

Stan

I think that the bigger problem is your boyfriend sticking his penis in you. If it has a slimy covering, it is probably semen. In that case it is probably unlikely but not impossible that you are going to get pregnant, if you are going to do things like that I think you need to either use a condom or start using birth control. You need to be responsible, and just because you aren't having "sex" doesn't mean that pregnancy is not possible.

Amy

Hello,

I just want to know that women can get pregnant without having any sex; just sleeping or lying together.

thanks.

No, it's not possible. Semen, or sperm, must go into a woman's vagina to get her pregnant. It's really hard for this to happen without sex. Just lying together, or even kissing and making out cannot do this. Keep in touch.

Stan

It would be quite difficult to get pregnant just lying in bed with a man. To get pregnant, the sperm must swim all the way up into the woman's uterus area. The first things working against you getting pregnant from laying in bed with a guy is the mere distance the sperm would have to swim, from him, to your vagina, into your vagina and up into the uterus. That is fairly impossible. Second, sperm die on contact with air almost immediately. So therefore, swimming for them is not an option, they are dead. I hope that answers your question. Now this is all wrong if he is sleeping with his penis inside of you, then that's a whole other story : )

Hey....me and my boyfriend have had sex around 15-20 times, but the last two times we did it....it hurt really bad. It like burned and it got too painful for him to even continue. I was wet enough, so that isn't the problem. There's just like this big burning sensation. It is really painful, what can i do?

Well, there's one fact when it comes to sex, it shouldn't hurt. Never have sex if it hurts because something is wrong. You need to go to a doctor, and there's no way around that. Was your boyfriend a virgin? Has he ever been with anyone else? It doesn't have to be a STD, but its just one possibility. There's also the chance that it is just an infection or something. Either way....DOCTOR. Immediately.

Stan

I would go see a doctor about it. Whenever problems occur in that region it is better to be safe than sorry. It could be an STD, or it could be something to do with your urinary system, its hard to tell without looking at it and taking urine specimens.

I'm a 22 year old woman and I broke my virginity about seven months ago with a man I absolutly adore. We're in a long-term relationship and have been so for the past one and a half years now. Recently while browsing through the Internet, I came across a 16 year old girl who broke her virginity at the age of 14. She claims that it is a well known fact that it takes up to two whole weeks for a girl to get her periods after her hymen is broken. How could this be true? It took me only three DAYS to get my periods after this first sexual experience of mine! Is this really a well known fact or is it just a myth? (I got my first period at the age of 12 and a half).

Well, its a myth I have not heard, but I say its a myth. You may want to ask someone else though since I have not heard it. I don't think that there is a waiting period for periods after breaking the hymen. But like I said you might want to get a second opinion. Good luck.

Amy

As far as I know, this girl was F.O.S. (full of...uh, crap). I've never heard this and it is of course not true. I don't see how it could possibly effect your natural cycle. Good luck, thanks for the email.

Stan

hi..

I am a 16 year old female going on 21:). My concern is, I have vaginismus from sexual abuse as a child. It's causing me a lot of problems both mentally and physically. All my past boyfriends(even the ones I was madly in love with and comfortable with) have never been able to penetrate me without me being in complete pain and I can't even insert a tampon. I was wondering if there are any exercises or something that i could do, on my own, to help me relax?

Thanks!

I think that therapy is probably the key. This pain my be a mental block caused by your past experiences. I am a believer that if you want to change you can. If you go and talk to a professional and let them help you to get past your past then you can experience a happy normal well adjusted life. Its a big step, but its a step in the right direction. Good luck.

Amy

With the case of Vaginismus, therapy is where you'll usually end up if physical therapy doesn't work. What you need to do is go to the doctor and ask him about what you should do. (S)he will probably suggest a rubber or glass dilator which can be used to massage your vagina into relaxing a bit. If that doesn't work, then you seek counseling. Good luck and please keep us updated.

Dear Stan and Amy,

I would like to have sex with my girlfriend, but both of us are a bit afraid that this might cause changes in her physique that might be noticeable and cause a problem since our relationship is not yet known by our families. Hence, could you please advise us on the following questions of which we wish to be absolutely sure.

1) Will having sex cause a change in her breast size etc. to a noticeable extent ? We do not mean to have it regularly, JUST THREE FOUR TIMES to try it out. Could there be physical changes even if we have it for a few times ???

2) Would having sex change the pattern of her menstrual cycle in any way ???

3) After having sex, would she have pain during her menstrual cycle ???

Kindly advise us on the above. Thanking you very much for your time.

I don't believe that having sex will increase her breast size. Having sex shouldn't change her menstrual cycle, or cause more pain. The majority of changes will be psychological changes because sex is a big step, but people can't tell just by looking at her that she is having it. Unless there is a big smile on her face. Good luck and remember to always be safe no matter what.

Amy

I couldn't have answered it any better than amy did. The only pain will probably be the first time you actually do it, when the hymen must be broken. Other than that, no real physical changes to worry about. Emotional is another story...

Stan

Hello. This is really emabarassing even over e-mail. I am 20 year old virgin and i have never masturbated the "normal" way. The only way i have ever done it is on my stomach or chest on bed moving back and forth as rubbing technique. Now my concern is that when i lay on my back and am erect my penis doesn't stand up straight-it actually bends all way back like pointing at my face-like inclined toward stomach-instead of up straight. Is this normal? My girlfriend of two years wants to have sex and i am worried that if or when she gets on top of me that it won't be up straight making it impossible? to penetrate. i don't know. Does the way i masturbate influence why it bends so back? What should i do? Am i worrying over nothing? I should also say that there has never been any sort of pain or anything. Well, thank you very much in advance for any help. Please reply to me soon. goodbye

Rest assured that this is not anything out of the normal, you are OK. Penises do not just go straight out, they point up. At least the ones I have seen do. You are perfectly normal, and you can't bend your penis by masturbating no matter how you masturbate, these things are pretty resilient.

Amy

Just to back up amy on this one....she's right. An erect penis, has a tendency to point up...i"m sure some do more than others. Good luck and you have nothing to be ashamed of. I'm sure that during sex, your penis will go to where you need it to be. Good luck, keep in touch.

Stan

Dear Stan and Amy,

Im 16 years old, and have been dating my boyfriend for a year. Last night my boyfriend and I had sex without a condom, but I had my period, what is the chance of me getting pregnent. Or is there no possible chance of me getting pregnent. Thanks alot.

Yes, there is a chance and you should know that right off the bat. It is the least likely time for you to get pregnant. However, women can ovulate at any time, including during their period. Good luck, and keep us up to date OK? I'm sure everything will turn out fine and you can just use this as a learning experience.

Stan

I've been with my boyfriend for about 7 months. Just recently I lost my virginity to him in January, I knew he wasn't a virgin. I don't know how many women he's slept with because I hear a number from him and a different number from other people. In March during my spring break, a guy I thought was a good friend took advantage of me. When I got checked at the clinic it came out positive. And when I got home that same day I had just gotten on my period. I've heard you can still be on your period and be pregnant, is this true? Plus, during my spring break I had smoked out with a few of my friends, I was wondering if the drug would effect the result of the test or not.

You cannot have your period if you are pregnant. However, some bleeding may occur in early pregnancy. I knew one woman in particular who said she had her 'period' through the first trimester of her pregnancy. Usually however, the bleeding is just spotting and can be differentiated from your period. Heavy bleeding however, could be mistaken for your period and it is possible. If you do happen to be pregnant, bleeding while pregnant could turn out to be no big deal, but it could also be early sign of a miscarriage. I hope this helps a little, but I would ask yourself how heavy your period was and are you sure that it was actually a period ... and possibly you should look into getting tested again. Good luck.

Stan
