I have a spirituality of my own making modeled after Native American thought. I am an avid reader of Jamie Sams as I have found much of her writings very useful. Her recent book "Dancing the Dream" describes seven paths of spirtiual growth and as best as I can tell I've pretty much navigated the first, second and third paths, working on the forth, the fifth, sixth and seventh paths. I use the woodlands as my "church." I'm able to relate to children and provide guidance but now it is too late in my life to be making babies. I've combined my interest in logic, (reasoned discussion), massage, ki training, relationship skills and other practical skills into holistic self-education. I have better relationship skills than some with degrees in psychology and I'm constantly adding to such skills. That is why I see myself a Crow, messenger of the Void. I have been able to help a couple of people through their abyss. My primary tool for doing that is the use of informal logic. For a list of definitions and princples CLICK HERE. I'm calm (unless I stub my little toe), never vent my frustration or anger on innocent others (although occasionally one of my hand tools get corrected :-) ), laid back and a very good negotiator. However, in an extreme situation that I doubt I'll ever face, I do have several years of martial arts training to call upon and a few other things up my sleeve. |

I see myself at times as Fox, in camouflage to observe and understand the truth of others. My strongest Allie is Coyote, trickster and clown. Medicine uniquely his and second only to the Great Spirit. But not always a smart as he thinks he is. The two combine leads me to be amiable with just about any group, light hearted and humorous yet remain true to myself. |

I've ran my current company for 15 years now. Most folks don't realize the importance of the physical condition of the home environment. Fixing a leaking faucet is more than just preventing the wasting of water or maintaining resale value. Think about how you feel after trying to sleep with that never ending drip or the faint but constant stress of not having your things just right. Women provide the first womb of life, the home, traditionally provided by the men but now also by women, is the second womb of life. The caretaker of the infant enters into the home of a provider to be nurtured and protected from outside elements. Repairing the home can lead to psychological well being. When I walk onto a property in need of repair I must look not only at the physical needs of the property but the psychological and even spiritual needs of the customer. I then choose the building materials and trimmings to improve the mental and spiritual impact of the property as well as the physical improvement. Easing a little stress can make it easier to feel a little more love and maybe even save a relationship. In the past I've rappelled down high rise buildings as a window washer. I've done solar work and A/C work. Worked in a tin shop and ran a welding and machine shop. I've Kayaked and ridden motorcycles. I have formal training as a massage therapist and an Aikidoist. I have a number of certificates if you would like to see them CLICK HERE. I'm always learning something new. I'm currently studying Middle Eastern Dance (bellydance). I'm an avid fan of the art and a member of and President of the Austin Bellydance Association. I'm a bit of a tracker. I took care of my severely handicapped brother until his death in 1977 (still miss him and my Dad). For more on my brother CLICK HERE I can change diapers as well as any mother! I've had to set aside my art skills and photography until the business needs less attention. Although I still make the occasional Dreamcatcher. Also I let my let my massage therapist license lapse as I was much better a making money in my maintenance business. That doesn't mean that my skills lapsed. |
