Basically I found a cape/mantle that I love and designed a gown to go with it. Then I decided that I love these girls from my World of Warcraft guild. They are my friends and I wouldn't trade them for the world. Well, if I win the lotto and can actually afford to have these made (ok, I gave up on the notion that I would actually be able to make my designs), then we will all get gussied up and go somewhere super fancy, like to meet the Queen of England or something.

This is the cape that started it all.

My gown is a modern version of the natural form era of the 1800's. The top is very fitted and is black silk with the same trim as the cape except in white and red (the trim is actually a cord with some crochet laid alongside, in this part the cord is white and the crochet is red). The three straps are each a different color, white, black and red. The skirt is white silk with the design in the back done with black cord and red crochet. At the top of the back there is faux lacing before it expands out to the fullness and small train. This would be worn with heart shaped rubies. There is a sort of heart and rose theme.

My second dress: bodice made of lace triangle with navy facing for modesty, points cross and fasten in back with cutout beneath. dark navy skirt with small train in back and square lace panel at bottom of train as diamond.

Thirvanna's gown is made from baby blue silk with white embroidery and a sheer white silk organza overlay on the skirt. The embroidery is of small flowers accented with crystals and blue topaz. Her headband is also accented with flowers made entirely of the gems. Her sleeves are separate from the gown and she can go with or without them.

Thirv's new dress has two spaghetti strapps over each shoulder and is cut to have a "flirty" skirt that would flare out when she twirled, etc. There is beading and embroidery at regular intervals around the bottom with crystals and blue topaz. Her necklace is designed to mirror the straps from her dress and has blue topazes dangling from it.

Thirv's third dress: baby blue silk, with white underskirt embroidered with blue pansies that are accented with crystals and blue topazes.

Lalia's gown is a rich purple silk. The skirt has a sheer red silk organza overlay. The bodice is covered in red silk embroidery of lily of the vally that is accented with small pearls to be the flowers. The neckline/straps is set with rubies as is her braclet/ring.

Lalia's bodice is made from silk oriental brocade with a red background and purple design. The skirt is made from purple silk. there should be rubies dangling from the bottom edge of the bodice, but for some reason I never drew them in.

Lalia's third dress: lavender silk with red embroidered and ruby jeweled lily-of-the-valley at right hip and left foot. Cut away at right hip to reveal rich violet pleated section.

Marylou's gown is of turquoise silk with white embroidery of hydrangeas and leaf scrollwork. It is accented with crystals and opals. Her arm band and choker are both turquoise silk ribbons with jewel hydrangeas around an opal and her earrings are diamonds down to opals.

Marylou's bodice is made from a shimmery white fabric that mimics opal. The front panel has turquoise embroidery. The skirt is made of a floaty turquoise silk with an asymmetrical hemline.

Rochana's gown has an empire waist. Above the waistline the gown is green silk velvet. Below the waistline it is white silk with embroidery of yellow roses and leaves. The roses are accented with yellow crystals and the leaves with emeralds. There is a jeweled yellow rose for her hair, and her necklace has an emerald centered on the white silk ribbon, and a dangling yellow rose.

Rochana's dress has a green silk skirt, an empire waistline with white silk on the top that has a yellow rose lace overlay.

Istra's dress is probably the one I'm least happy with, and I may make her a different one. I'm not sure that this one is original enough. Anyway, the main part of the bodice and skirt are of a purple silk taffeta, with the over skirt being of red silk. The center of the bodice and the peplums are in a red and purple brocade. the neckline is set with rubies. The earrings and necklace are rubies in a chandelier style. She also has a small tiara set with rubies.

I am more pleased with Istra's new dress. The bodice is mainly made of purple silk velvet. The sleeves are lined in red and purple changable silk taffeta. The under skirt and center part of the bodice is also the changable silk taffeta. The over skirt is purple silk chiffon. The tiara and jewelry are the same as above.

Istra's dress is based on early elizabethan gowns. it has a full silk skirt, and a tight fitting bodice. There is an very sheer white "partlet" and matching detail on the sleeves.

Elmleaf's dress is made from blue silks. The bodice in is sapphire blue silk. The underskirt is of a baby blue silk, with the over skirt being of sapphire blue silk chiffon. The overskirt is made to look like the petals of a french tulip. Her jewelry is sapphires for the earrings and necklace, with the braclet made from two real white tulips made into living jewelry.

This dress is for Blurr's wife. The bodice is made of black silk velvet and is lined with red silk. It has a vine design in red of irises. The skirt is red silk with the iris vine design in black. The irises are accented with rubies and she has an iris made from rubies in her hair.

Naughty's dress is made of soft slinky light blue silk. It is made to hug her curves until it flares out starting at the knee. There is a rose vine embroidered around the hem and neckline and accented with diamonds. Her necklace is also done as a rose vine.
