Brian's Tree

We grandparents couldn't get there to greet this baby boy.
And so we sat and waited for the news of pride and joy.

Instead , the tears were of sadness as the doctor made the call,
Brian didn't make it , he didn't cry at all

A twig was placed upon the knoll, the week after Brian was born
To symbolize the birth , the birth of one so long awaited for .

With loving care we nurtured it ,we named it Brian's tree
We watched it grow to adulthood with pride, as we would he.

The tree is tall and graceful now with blooming boughs galore,
Admired by all who see it now and know whom it's planted for.
