My Island Maui!

Maui, The best place on Earth. I may seem biased but you ask anyone who lives there and you will hear the same. I was born and Raised on Maui, and each day that I am away I miss it terribly. When you grow up on Maui you are brought up with a sense of belonging, loyalty, and Pride. No matter how far you travel, Maui is always on your mind. The spirit of Aloha (which means love) is alive and well on Maui. Everyone is welcomed with open arms and in my heart Maui will always have it's place.

Facts On Maui

Maui also known as the Valley Isle, is the second largest Island in the Hawaiian chain, and the second closest to the Mainland US. The islands of Hawaii(better know as the "Big Island), Molokai,Kahoolawe, and Molokini are Maui's closest Neighbors. Maui, Molokai, and Lanai make up the county of Maui. Maui is such a diverse Island. You will find everything from the miniture Waikiki know as Lahaina, which is filled with everything from good shopping to a booming night life...All the way up to Upcountry Maui Which you'll find the town of Makawao, which is a mixture of old west stores with hitching posts out front to a 70's style hippie influence. Cowboy's and Horses??? Well, yes in upcountry Maui you will find that as well. I should know I grew up in Makawao and participated in all of it's adventures growing up. From Horses and cows to Rodeo's in the summer...we got it all. Then you have the Hana Coast, a flash back into old Hawaii, from the waterfalls and ponds to the taro patches and old uncle willy sittin in front of his fruit stand. Let's not forget Down Town containing Kahului and Wailuku, The hub of Maui's Buisness district. From The major malls, to all the government offices. No matter what type of life you lead wether it be City, country or a little of both you'll find it on Maui. if I am not mistaking Maui's population is in the 200,000 range. Well, at least it was the last time I checked. Either way it still isnt too big. No matter where you go you will always run into someone you know. Even if they don't know you, don't be surprised if they act as if they do know you.
