Another important aspect of the hippy culture was music. Music was written to express the emotions and personal ideas and thoughts of the average person. There were many important figures relating to the music that the hippies loved. Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Rolling Stones, and many other men and women that produced the music that was played on the radios and guitars and has been sung on the lips of every hippy of the generation. Music gave light to the sad things around them, and advertised their feelings and shared them with those who had a mind to listen and understand. It was a way to get out anger and frustration and to relax, and to also have a good time - music then basically symbolized the same to them, as it does now to us. For many it was their way of life. |
