How to Chat with Us

This page is designed to help you access #wam_quicksand. This channel can only be accessed through DalNet on IRC. I'd reccommed downloading the chat client mIRC as that is the most popular IRC chat client around.

How to Get into #wam_quicksand
1. Download and install mIRC. Directions are on the mIRC homepage.
2. Follow directions on setting up mIRC.

3. Choose a nickname. When choosing a nickname try to choose something unique. Chances are if you are just starting out on mIRC you would not get a common name like Bob. Try to jazz it up abit. B^o^B or Bob4546 would be two different nicknames to choose. The characters you are allowed to use are as follows the letters of the English Alphabet, Numbers, ^ - [ ] { } `.

4. You must choose a server now... #wam_quicksand is ONLY accessed through DalNet. Choose a DalNet server that is close to you (it doesn't have to be the closest but picking one over in Switzerland when you are in USA is going to make it slower for you)

5. Connect to the server and you'll see a bunch of stuff show up on the screen. Eventually a box will pop up listing a bunch of places to chat.

6. Type in #wam_quicksand and ADD it to your Channel list. If you don't get a popup box type /join #wam_quicksand. 7. Either double click on #wam_quicksand or click once and choose join.

You are now connected to the #wam_quicksand channel. On your right you will see a list of the nicknames that are chatting currently in the channel. See people's messages in the box on the left side, and type in the box at the bottom.
