Tips for using backgrounds
* Don't copy the code (example: http://www.oocities.org/SouthBeach/Island/2300/pics/bkgrnds/starry_night.JPG) directly to your webpage, this is considered stealing!
* Use small images to reduce loading time (200 pixels by 200 pixels is normal)
* Use colors that cordinate with your images and text well
* Use colors that make the text show up easily, so it is easy to read
* Try to limit the number of images you use per page, so that the viewer doesn't have to load it forever. A max of 20k per page
* Try using interesting backgrounds, and origional ones. Maybe even switch them from time to time
* If possible, make a seperate sub-directory to store all your backgrounds in. That way, you can tell a background from a normal picture you use on your webpage, and it reduces confusion. It also organizes the images you use well.
* If you use backgrounds someone else has provided, please give them credit!!!
* You can use regular images as backgrounds! Just make sure that they are small and easy to see. If you go into a picture-editing program, you can lighten the picture enough so that black text shows up well on it. Or, as I do sometimes, darken it, so that white text shows up well on it.
