WHERE AM I GOING?

I don’t know where I am going

I’m not sure if I will know when I get there

And who knows, maybe I’ve already been there

Without ever really knowing!

I’ve been running in circles my whole lifelong

Feeling like a puppy chasing her tail

But never catching it, in the end!

I love my life and sing the song

Sometimes I win, often I fail

But one thing I count on is a true friend.

I’ve never really known what I want

Yet, all along, it’s been right in front of me

I never see it, till I lose it

Yet, by that time, it has come to daunt

If I would learn to open my blind eye to see

I might be able to make the pieces fit!

I never dreamed I would age;

My mind still refuses to buy it!

But, the reflection in my mirror tries to sell it

And with each new line of sage,

I watch as my face grows older-

The children play as I get bolder

I still don’t know where I am going

I am not too sure if I will know it

Whenever I get there.

But I pray I will know what to do

With what I have

when it matters most.

Where am I going?

How will I get there?

Who will be there

To care and to share?
