to launch new CD/DVD label:
NPS OUTPUT
On
May 19th, NPS (Dutch public radio and television company) and Favored Nations
(Los Angeles based record company, owned by guitarist/composer Steve Vai) will
present their joint venture
NPS OUTPUT
NPS
Output will present CD and DVD releases
of original musical radio and television material produced by NPS. In most
cases it will involve special commissions and/or live productions.
Executive
producers for NPS OUTPUT are Willem van Beusekom (managing director NPS) and
Steve Vai (managing director Favored Nations).

The
first release is a collaboration between San Diego based multi-instrumentalist
and composer Mike Keneally and the famous Metropole Orkest (orchestra)
conducted by Jurjen Hempel: THE UNIVERSE
WILL PROVIDE. This piece was commissioned by NPS and was premiered in the
Holland Festival. This version, however, is a specially produced studio version
of Keneally’s first composition for a large orchestra, with the composer
himself as main soloist.
