is absent

of clothes
like the emperor's
of depth
like the sea's

read: it's without
rhetoric

soothing
the tired
metonymic mind

no metaphors, please
(I don't write to please)

idea of relaxation --
the wheels cease its turning
machinations

wanting to float
        not dive

despised by THE Committee:
how old are the judges?
