We met Pastors Bruce and Felicia, of Victory Christain Center in Fairbanks, Alaska through the internet. A web page that was designed by one of our members contained a book written by Linda Burroughs. It was a small booklet that spoke about how our church here in Goldsboro, North Carolina began. This booklet obviously made an impression on the pastors from Alaska because shortly after reading it they invited us to come and visit them.
The weather was beautiful for the trip and we were encouraged and blessed by the way their members came together for the revival. Here is a picture of Linda, Bruce and Joe. And here is Linda and Felicia.
Joe took some of his vacation time to help drive us back and forth to the services. He took some of our team to see many sites around the area also. His involvement with our team went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you Joe we really do love you and your family.
Our team gathered to pray for each person during every altar service. We believe in corporate, hands on prayer and annointing with oil. Many were blessed by the presence of the Lord during these prayer times. It was a time for a touch and a refreshing from the Lord.
Here are some photos of our team after Sunday's service. This is Robin and Anne. Believe it our not but Robin is Anne's daughter-in-law. And this is Evalyn, Robin, and Anne. Evalyn is Pastor Linda's cousin. She used to live in Tennessee but came to live and work in our ministry in Goldsboro, NC. This is Evalyn, Anne, Robin, Cheryl, and Linda. And here is another group photo with Willard, Anne, Joe, and Robin.
There were plenty of kids around for everyone to spoil.
This is Robin during praise and worship service. She is one of our praise and worship leaders at home. She is also a full time nursing student but she was out of school between semesters when this trip took place. Please pray for her as she is also trying to raise a four year old son and hold down two jobs at the same time.
Mr. Willard is famous around our church for passing out stickers to all the kids. He is always ready with a kind word and a hug too.
After the Sunday morning service we were presented with this cake but there was no need to thank us my friends. We Thank You! We really had a wonderful time while we were in Alaska and fell in love with everyone there.
We stayed at Beaver Lake Resort, North Pole. Our rooms were located on the third floor of the resort. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and got lots of rest while we were there.
The view from our room was totally awesome. There was a huge lake with a road going all the way around it. We could sit at the picnic table on the lake and read or fellowship. It was simply wonderful.
And since we were staying at the North Pole a trip was made to Santa's House. And we even got to visit with one of Santa's reindeer. I believe this was Prancer, I am not sure because they do all look alike.
We also got to visit the famous Alaska Pipeline. It was an awesome site.
We found all the scenery around Fairbanks really beautiful. It reminded us of why God said it was good when He created the world.
And our whole trip was not all work. There was a friendly game of pool going on in the game room downstairs one afternoon. Linda and Evalyn teamed up against Robin and Cheryl. It was a close game all the way to the end. I wouldn't feel right if I didn't include this picture of the victors. Yep, you are going to have to look at the picture if you want to know who won.
Pastor Linda bought a painting at the restaurant we ate at every morning. She had her picture taken with the painting and our friends we were leaving behind at the airport. She named the bear in the picture Brucie after Pastor Bruce.
It never fails every trip we go on there is always a time that we have to leave. And on every one of them we are leaving new family members. We miss you guys so very much. Pray with us that we can all get together again real soon, either here on earth or in the air.
