Final Satisfaction

Walking by a new playground
I saw a child hopping around.
He hit all the swings and moved them with ease.
He sat in the tire, but didn't seem pleased.
Across the balance beam he leaped and he bounded.
He didn't like anything--I was astounded.
Across the monkey bars and down the rope net.
To me he seemed tired, and a little upset.
He walked up the slide and prepared to descend.
Down to the sand where he bumped his rear end.
He sat there in silence and looked with a smile.
All that he needed was dirt all the while.
