Younger, I
Once again I think of my past
The warm summer days and cool winter ones
The brief friendships which almost became forever
Football, baseball, and running which occupied myself
- with them.
The bruises and scrapes that proved we were imperfect
On days we were too tired we played video games
- or Legos or just laid in the grass and talked
Music to sooth and raise our spirits
Puppy dogs to pull us on our skateboards
Ramps to jump and bikes to crash
Girls to love, hate, and desire -
- and the games we played with them
The loneliness of sickness
To live it again...
