The Princess and the Frog
Once upon a time (nah, too common)
Once upon a midn (already used)
There was once (not fancy enough)
Frogs (too...to the point)
I had a (I don't want to be in it)
Once upon a time (yeah!) there lived a beautiful young princess about the age of sixteen. She grew up in a small castle just out side the city of Landistown. As were all princesses of the time, she was very unhappy with her life. Her father, King Fruzbaf, wanted her to marry the Prince of Marlon, Prince Craig (DAA!) Marshal (more like it), but Princess Deania (Princess D) didn't like him, as is to be expected.
One morning the princess met a farmhand named Old Mac Don (Gee Whiz!) Cheffy whom she talked to for hours. One likeable thing about Cheffy was his pet frog. Deania enjoyed talking to Cheffy and playing with the pet frog named Kermit (Pretty bad, huh?) Warter.
For many weeks these three spent time together and as the princess fell further in love with them, the King grew angrier. The day came (as it always does) when the king ordered the three of them to be brought before him. He pleaded with his daughter to reconsider their relationship, but she loved them too much to obey her father.
The evil wizard of the nearby town was summoned by the king to cast a spell on the beautiful young princess, binding her to the castle, and allow the young man to join Warter in froghood (how corny). So it was done. The princess was bound to the castle and Cheffy turned into a frog.
That night the king ordered frog legs to be served for the evening meal (how crude). The princess was so brokenhearted and horrified that she damned her father and threatened to starve herself in her room. The king finally (after many moments of the princesses suffering) reconsidered and ordered that the remaining frogs be let loose as well as his daughter. One of the frogs, that belonging to Cheffy, found his way to the princesses chambers. Deania, although greatly fond of this frog, wept due to the fate of Cheffy.
As you can imagine, Deania's only remaining companion was a frog. She left her chambers late one night to find the good wizard of Landistown. She promised riches to the wizard (all of which were on the kings credit) for one favor to be bestowed upon her. They went deep into the forest the next morning for the casting of the spell. The one instruction to the princess was explained before the wizard left - all she had to do was kiss the frog and say his name, then watch the results.
Deania paused for a moment before the enactment to make the final decision. She would soon be with Warter and she wasn't sure she was ready for it.
The time came. She pulled Warter out of her pouch and kissed him on the cheek (if frogs have cheeks) and stated "WARTER!" Immediately the transformation started. Slowly, but surely, the princess shrank down into a frog (somebody goofed). After a short discussion the two turned and hopped merrily into an alligators mouth.
So closes our story.
