Global Command and Control System (GCCS) Technician

Headquarters, Twelfth Air Force; Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ; May 1995 - Present

Responsibilities and duties include setup, administration, configuration, and operation of Twelfth Air Force's Unix-based GCCS. Setup includes the building of networks, NT workstations and servers, Sun, and HP systems. Administration includes the development and maintenance of Twelfth Air Force’s web pages using JAVA and HTML programming languages. During configurations I maintain and configure a massive electronic mail network using Microsoft Exchange Server. Daily operation involves analyzing and troubleshooting various applications on GCCS for headquarters personnel. Supported military exercises worldwide, including Joint Task Force-Southwest Asia in enforcing no-fly zone in Iraq. Conducted training for over 25 people within a two-month period while deployed to Southwest Asia. Provided training and supervision of less experienced personnel during several exercises at Davis-Monthan AFB. Directed the conversion and installation of Twelfth Air Force GCCS from the World Wide Military Command and Control System. Built a scheduling and tracking database using Microsoft Access for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Vicenza, Italy to setup and monitor air traffic over the Bosnia-Herzegovina area. Setup and help maintain a medium scale local area network for Canadian and British personnel while in Italy. Semi-annually brief top officials on the GCCS capabilities.
