Scuba diving

I started scuba diving before I went on holidays to Australia in 1991, and it
has me in its grip ever since. A lot of the time I feel more comfortable under
water than on land. I am a PADI rescue diver and currently have about 200 dives but
every dive is still fascinating. Especially if I find an octopus. I love
octopusses (octopussi? octopodes?) but then I have a strange taste anyway.
So far I've been diving at:
- the Coral Sea off Queensland, Australia on the
Rumrunner ,
a sailing vessel, where we also did some shark feeding)
- the Great Barrier Reef, also in Australia, with
Deep Sea Divers Den on a largish dive boat
- the Red Sea, near Safaga, Egypt; have a look
here for information about
diving the Red Sea
- some places in Florida,in the Florida Keys and along the east coast
- Barbados with
Exploresub Barbados, feeding Serge the stingray - beautiful!
- Corsica (from a boat, the MS Galliotte)
- The Phillipines, island of Bohol
- various lakes in the area where I live.
- Brother Islands, in the middle of the Red Sea, on board the Heaven I. Lots of sharks and heavy current!
- Next trip will be in early 2001, to Bonaire.
I have tried diving in a drysuit but I'm still not sure whether I'm
really enjoying it - so much gear to put on!
