The Transition Area This photo shows the transition area at the Seahorse Triathlon at around 6:00 a.m., about one hour before the start of the race. After the swim, participants run barefoot for about 400 yards to this area, change, mount their bikes, and head out for the bike portion of the event. The bike portion ends back here at the transition area where participants drop off their bikes and head out for the run. The clock is always running, so the area is frantic with activity during the event. Photo by Mike Cyrol |
