The Casino

A new building adorns the skyscape of the city of Melbourne. It is the crown casino, with its huge hotel, shops and gambling. I'm not going to make any political statement about it though.
It is situated along the yarra and well it's a casino, there are a few exclusive shops, food court, Planet Hollywood, All Stars Cafe and a Warner Brothers Shop.

The thing about a casino is that you are guaranteed to eventually come out with less money than you took in. The odds are set that way. So you might win $10 one day, but lose $20 another. Unless you happen to win a $1 million jackpot there is next to no chance of making profit from gambling in this way. I am underage still so I can't tell you any personal experiences about the joys of gambling, just what I catch a glimpse of through the doors.

The major attraction of the casino for me is the fire jets which go off every hour. I heard it costs $5000 every time they do a show. Sitting there watching the 7 or so big pillars with fire balls being shot from the top is pretty spectacular. Sitting about 50m away it gets pretty hot for a second there though.

The cinema is another attraction. It's a pretty good cinema as cinemas go, great seats. The theatres are rather small though and the screens aren't very big. Now I know it all works out because you are much closer to the screen. But I really prefer megascreens. For the best experience go to the Greater Union Cinema 6, the biggest screen, most seats and best sound. Here's what the casino looks to me from the outside. Well this is only 1 of 4 sides but there's some of the flashy lights for you to see!
