Is There a Place?

by Karen Kiefer

Is there a place
Where morals lie
And buried secrets
Tend to die?
Is there a place
You can walk at night
And where you turn
Is free of fright?
Is there a place
Where proud knights roam
And wherever you are
You feel at home?
Is there a place
That when you cry
You do not feel ashamed
But able to fly?
Is there a place
That's free of strife
Where life is love
And love is life?
Is there a place
Where flowers bloom
And only friendly
Shadows loom?
Is there a place
Of a gentle gale
And kind wolves howl
At the moon so pale?
Is there a place
Where people can mourn
When the child they're blessed with
Cannot be born?
Is there a place
Where children can play
And not have worries
That their world will fray?
Is there a place
Where I can smile?
Is there a place
That can stand the trial?

What Kind Of Place Are We Talking About Anyway??!

by Lillie Kingston

WARNING: Not to be taken seriously, I have nothing against the army!!

Is there a place
Where camo is worn
And scandleous secrets
Are often born?
Is there a place
Where your drill seargent yells
And at each other you fire
Your shotgun shells?
Is there a place
They insult your mother
And where ever you are
You're watched by Big Brother?
Is there a place
That when you cry
The drill seargent screams
"Quit crying or die!"
Is there a place
That has violent strife
Where life is a war
And war is your life?
Is there a place
Where they film M*A*S*H*
And homosexuals
Are eternily bashed?
Is there a place
Where you're trained to make guns
How to kill your enemy,
And why it's so fun?
Is there a place
Where innocence is scorned,
and kill enough people
with medals you're adorned?
Is there a place
Where killers are free
And the slogan is
BE ALL YOU CAN BE?
