~The Choir's History~

Established in 1969, the membership of River Valley High School Choir has strengthened to an impressive size of about 120 voices. In the last few years, the choir has broadened its repertoire to include choral music of different periods, styles and languages.

The yearly choir programme which includes performances at the SYF Choral Festivals and Competitions, Chirstmas carolling and school functions, has given members wider exposure and opportunities to gain valuable experiences. In 1995, the choir obtained distinction awards at both the SYF Central Judging and the 4th Choral Competition. In 1996, the choir gained recognition as one of the school choirs in the Choral Excellence Programme. In 1997, the choir was awarded Gold Medal and got into the finals.
