"we
have a saying, christy (turlington) and i: we don't get
out of bed for less than $10 000 a day"
This
often misquoted quote seemed very brash (and to an
extreme, rather vulgar), but is was
true, models had become BIGGER
than the product itself. More of like spokesperson, an
endorsement,
a walking guarantee of
looking the best, she had moved
models beyond being mere clothes hangers to being
supermodels. And designers and magazines did not mind
picking up the $10 000 bill if it meant having her seen
in their clothes and between the covers of glossy
magazines and catalogues.
However
hefty the price, she is definitely worth it, due to her
professionalism and commitment to a job. Often willing to
play many roles in front of the camera, fashion
photographers love her ability to fit their perception
and vision into their photographs. That is the secret
behind her success and staying power.

"I am
not the
first woman
to colour
my hair"
SHALL
we even go on to talk about her hair? To keep up with the
ever-changing
pace of the fashion world, she changes her image with
ease by simply changing her hair
style or colour. However more
often than not, it is she who creates
trends
with each hair colour, and it was she who started this
fascination with hair colour so much so that other models
soon discovered that hair colour was as IMPORTANT as the
look.
She was the first one to use her hair to make it
big, and soon most models took a page out of that book
(read: Nadja Auermann
and her platinum blonde hair, and Stella
Tennant with her raven-black hair). But
hairstylists and colourists all over have said that she
has the ability to make any
cut or colour work for her, a
true hallmark of a supermodel.
WHO is she
?
