Where do babies come from? What's for dinner? Who leaves the mints on the pillow every night? Who's behind this web site? These questions and more are probably plaguing you as we speak. The answers are: mommies and daddies, meat loaf, the maid, and ME! (In that order, mind you!)
I am Lillie. But where shall I go from there? I'll start at the beginning, I suppose.
I was born nearly 17 years ago, on a sultry night in October in 1982. I was living in South California, you see, and every night is sultry there. 1982 was a turbulant year, indeed: "I Love Rock and Roll" was the #1 song of the year and the U.S. stopped making one-cent pieces out of copper.
There's not much to talk of from 1982-1995, since my life didn't really begin until high school. I didn't have too many friends in grade school because I was unusually bright for my age. But I bet you could tell from my site. In 1996, I moved to Vermont, which is when my life really began. I arrived here in the summer before my eighth grade year. Vermont is a beautiful place. People here are friendly and weather is much more exciting. We have five seasons here--winter from October to mid-March, Mud from mid-March to mid-April, Spring from mid-April to May, Summer from June to August, and Fall in September. Six months of winter, yes it's true. During winter, the temperature drops quite a bit, and water has a tendency to slow down and stop moving. Humans are 70% water. But I digress.
When I moved here, I met people like me for the first time. This is the first place I've lived in where I have more than two good friends. But hanging out with my buds is just one of my favorite ways to pass my free time. When I'm not at school or at work at the local supermarket, my web site is one of my biggest hobbies.
I've been running this web site for nearly two years now, and if I have any visitors that have been here before, (imagine!) they can see how my web site and I have evolved.
My other interests include sewing, knitting, and baking. I'm a regular homebody, aren't I? Soon I will have some photos of me and my sewing and knitting creations on my web site for all to see. Just as soon as I get the film developed, that is. My specialty in baking is baking with yeast--a tricky skill to develop, believe me. I love to bake, but I hate cooking. This may be because all of my past cooking experience involve my mother forcing me to make dinner when I'd rather be sitting at the computer!
I also love tv, film and music. My main musical passion is disco and eighties pop. My favorite singers and bands include Tiffany (queen of the mallrats in 1985!), Gloria Gaynor, Dead or Alive, A-ha, Thompson Twins, Duran Duran, Taco (or as he changed his name to later in his career, "Falco"), the Bangles, Queen, and Talking Heads. My favorite TV show is Highlander, and while I freely admit is the silliest TV show being broadcasted today, I will fight to the death anyone that argues that it is not the greatest television show in the world.
I consider myself a child of the eighties, even though I can only remember from 1985 and up. I love eighties pop, eighties movies, eighties TV. My favorite movies include Labyrinth, The Neverending Story, Splash, The Little Mermaid (which I saw both times it was in theatres--1989 and 1998), and anything with Goldie Hawn in it. Yet I also feel I belong in the fifties--I would be perfectly content to be a housewife and take care of the children and the house. It makes sense, really, the eighties and the fifties were similar eras.
I also love to write. Most of my writing is not very conventional and I've had many qualms about posting some of them on my site, but I'm going too anyway.
Now, the part you've been waiting for! Hardcore Nudity!*
* Not really. Just pictures of me. Sorry! >:)
