Gottlieb System 80

Service Bulletins, Technical Notes
& Misc. Documents

This page is to guide you in the direction of some interesting paperwork. Besides the usual game specific instruction manuals with schematics, Gottlieb issued a series of Service Bulletins to operators as new games were released and faults were uncovered. Gottlieb also published a technical newsletter called "ON TARGET" covering both pinball and video games, between November 1980 and March 1984.

Joel "Pinball Lizard" Cook and Vickie Huisenga took a lot of material from these Gottlieb service bulletins and "On Target" newsletters, added in their own experiences and produced the 1994 "Black Hole/Haunted House Club of America". It contains a lot of information but it looks like it was put together with an ancient typewriter and Xerox machine, with no logical order to the contents. In it's day a useful guide, but nowaydays outclassed by Clay Harrell's Pinball Repair Guides, which are clearly written and superbly illustrated, covering most pinball machine makes and series, including System 80.
