"NACOMA" A Tribute
On March 29th at 6:15 p.m. Nacoma passed away.
My loss is great.
He was a man like no other man.
My father had a great love for wildlife, the land and its people.
Nacoma...
How many families did you provide with food when they had none?
How many tears did you dry up, and how many people did you comfort in your lifetime?
How many times, did I sit next to you and listen to your stories of our people?
How often did you open your doors to families in need of a place to stay?
How many years, did you farm the land; and when the harvest
was done how many families reaped your benefits?
Nacoma...
How many honors were bestowed upon you by the community?
How many times did you go feed the deer when the snow
was so deep that they would have starved?
Nacoma...
When you was with pain, I suffered along with you.
When you said it was time to die. I then helped care for you.
When you didn't recognize me; I did not forget you.
Nacoma...
Your death has left a great hole in my heart
it is with much sadness that I say goodbye to you.
Knowing that I may never look upon your face again, or hold you in
my arms, as you once held me, is almost more than I can stand.
Nacoma...
Your suffering has finally ended, and you are now at peace.
I am selfish, for I miss you already....
but I will always cherish what we had.
Nacoma...
I love you.
