Proper Objectivity During Roleplay

"There is literaly an entire world of fantasy separating muns from their characters, though they dwell within one mind." --J.J. Kohl

In roleplaying there are characters and there are muns.

There is a great deal of difference, and should be an entire world of separation between the two.

In many cases the view of the mun on a given situation will differ greatly from that which would be characteristic of their character. In such a case as this, the mun is obligated to have the character behave in the manner that goes along with the personality and views attributed to the character.

The mood of the character should not reflect the mood of the mun.

The views of the character should not change based on those of the mun. This involves the opinion of other muns and characters. Muns may be great friends, but have characters that are mortal enemies.

Muns often design their characters to posess their own characteristics and therefor the views of the character and the mun would often be the same. However, the opinions of the character concerning other characters should have no association with the personal lives of the muns when outside and RP environment.

This separation of RP world and real world in referred to as objectivity. If a mun is not mature enough to accept this necessary objectivity, then we ask that they please refrain from playing. Taking personal vengence on a mun by harming the character controlled by the mun is also included in this mentioning.
