Who are the New York Knicks?

If you have to ask that question, then this is the wrong page for you! The Knicks are simply the best basketball team in the world. They are better than the Chicago Bulls, Seattle Supersonics, or any other inferior basketball team that you can think of. The Knicks will win the championship this year, that you can count on. Now that we have that settled, lets take a look at some of the key players on the New York Knicks.

Key Players on the Knicks

Patrick EwingPATRICK EWING

Patrick Ewing is one of the greatest players to ever play for the New York Knicks. He is the franchise player and an important aspect to the Knick orgainzation. Patrick Ewing is also a very underated and unrespected player. People are always critizing him because the Knicks have not yet won a championship. However, this is not his fault. The only other year that he had players playing at All-Star levels was 1994, and Charles Smith and the blind referees messed that one up! Patrick Ewing will one day go to the Hall of Fame, because he is one of the greatest centers to ever play the game.

Charles OakleyCHARLES OAKLEY

Charles Oakley is the hardest working player on the New York Knicks. Oakley always plays hard. Every day and every night, you know what you're getting from the Oak Man. He plays hard defense, grabs rebounds, and beats up Charles Barkley! He is also one of the co-captians, so he has a leadership role in this organization as well. Charles Oakley is an important part of this team. I believe that he should have his number retired when he retires from the game.

Larry JohnsonLARRY JOHNSON

"Kevin, have you seen my grandmama?" Larry Johnson a.k.a. "grandmama" is a talented player. He is outstanding in the post, grabs rebounds, and plays hard. Contrary to popular belief, he can also play defense! If you may recall, back in his Charlotte days, when the Bulls came to town, Larry Johnson was assigned to guard Michael Jordan. If he couldn't play D, why would he be assigned to guard (I choke when I say this) the best player in the league? Once Larry Johnson gets comfortable and stops worrying about his shot selection, Larry Johnson is going to be an important addition to this basketball team.

Allan Houston

Allan Houston is also a very talented basketball player. He can shoot your eyes out if you are not careful. He can also take the ball to the hole. At 6 foot 6 inches, he is a hard man to guard when he is on fire. Like Larry Johnson, he needs to get comfortable and stop worrying about his shot selection. Once he does this, the Knicks will be unstoppable!

Chris ChildsCHRIS CHILDS

Chris Childs is nice! I don't care what anyone says, Chris Childs has game! He can dribble, shoot, and pass. He is a leader at the point guard position. He plays hard and has a lot of talent. Right now, he is one of the best players on the New York Knicks. If Chris Childs can stay healthy, the New York Knicks will be a force to reckon with come playoff time!

John StarksJOHN STARKS

John Starks is also a very talented player. I will always remember May 25, 1993 in Madison Square Garden against the Bulls in the playoffs. Do you remember what he did? Starks drove from the baseline and jumped up in the air. Jordan and Grant also jumped with him. You know what happened? Jordan and Grant got dunked on! My only complaint about Starks is that he is very streaky. One game, he could score 35 points, talk trash to Reggie Miller, dunk on Michael Jordan, and call it a day. The very next game, he could shoot 2 for 18 and blow our chances for a championship like he did in game 7 of the N.B.A. finals in 1994. I like John Starks coming off the bench much more than John Starks starting. I think he is a much better sixth man than starter. As long as he doesn't take 18 shots and make 2 in anymore playoff games, John Starks is cool with me!

Buck WilliamsBUCK WILLIAMS
Buck Williams is probably the most reliable player on the New York Knicks. He hasn't played a bad game yet this season. Buck Williams is like another Charles Oakley, in that he plays great defense and grabs rebounds. Buck can also play offense. Having Buck Williams on the team gives the Knicks depth on the bench. While everyone was making a big deal over the arrival of Childs, Houston, and Johnson, I was extremely please to hear the arrival of Buck Williams. He might be old, but he still has a good game. I hope Buck finishes his career in New York.
