1. John Henry Bogan/Bogen (12/26/1785-2/19/1858), a farmer, m. Margareth 
Lynd (8/8/1791-3/20/1868).  In the 1840 census, he, his wife, a male age 
15-20, a female age 5-10, and a female age 10-15 live in Clarendon Twp,  
Marion Co. OH.  In the 1850 census, John Henry, 64, lives with Margaret, 
59, John W., 27, Caroline, 26, and Susan, 18, in Whetstone Twp., Crawford 
Co. OH.  There was a Johann Henrich, s/o Fridrich Andreas and Amalia 
Magdalena Bogen, christened on Jan 8, 1786 in Frederick Co., Middletown 
or Frederick, MD.  In 1810, the Johann Nicolas Andreas Bogen family (AKA
the Friderich Andreas family) was located in Frederick Co, MD.  The census
lists 2 free white males ages 45 and above, 2 free white females ages 10-
16, and once free white female age 45 and above.  The family also owned 4
slaves.  In 1820 the John Henry Bogen family is living in Waterford Twp., 
Loudon Co, VA.  The census says that John H. has 2 free white males under 
10 yrs, 1 free white male 26-45, one free white female under 10, and one 
free white female 16-26.  It also says they have no foreigners not 
naturalized and nobody engaged in agriculture.   The couple was born in MD
and are bur. in Oakwood Cemetary in Bucyrus OH.

     2. Samuel, a farmer, (1816 in MD or PA-Nov 27, 1889) m1st Charlotte/
     Sharlottie Bowers/Bowars (May 16, 1821 OH-June 6, 1884). According 
     to the 1870 census, they are 56 and 51 respectively.  Samuel was 
     christened on Aug 11, 1816 in Frederick Co, Middletown, MD.  
     According to the 1860 census they are living in Whetstone Twp, 
     Crawford Co., and Samuel is 46 and Charlotte is 39.  The 1860 
     census states that his real estate is valued at "4040" and his 
     private estate is valued at "500."  According to the 1850 census, 
     Samuel is 37 and the value of his real estate owned is "1600."  
     The 1850 census says Charlotte is 27.  Samuel and Charletta were
     m. on Nov 12, 1837 in Stark Co, OH.  The Repository says they were
     both of Nimishillen Twp.  Samuel and Charlotte bur. Luke Cem, 
     Crawford Co. OH.  Samuel m2nd Mary Holman (d. Oct 12, 1898; bur.
     BENT cem in Crawford Co, OH).  Samuel was the eldest son of John
     Henry and Margaret.  Charlotte d. aged 63 yrs; Samuel d. aged
     73 yrs, 10 mo., and 26 days.  Back in their corner of luke cemetary,
     there is an Ada Virginia Bogan buried (who is she??).  View Samuel's
     will  Samuel was possibly born in Gettysburg
     PA.

        in his burial records, though I think he marr. Maggie Dix on 1/1/1878
        in Crawford Co Ohio.  The marriage consent was signed by Samuel Bogen
        on 31 Dec 1877.

            They marr on 10/29/1891 in Crawford.
        3. Emanuel L. (Nov 2, 1850-Dec 27, 1922) m. Rebecca R. Sheldon
        (7/1/1848-12/21/1909) d/o Henry and Nancy (Ridgley) Sheldon.  It 
        looks like, according to the 1870 census, that Emanuel's house-
        hold and the Samiel Bogan's household (his father) were next door
        neighbors.  In the 1850 census, Emanuel is 1 yr. in the 1870 
        census, Emanuel and Rebecca are 20 yrs and have no kids yet.  
        Emanuel is bur. INFY cem in Crawford and Rebecca bur. Luke Cem.
        They were marr on 3/24/1870 in Crawford.

        Emporia KS on Sep 1, 1905. With the help of her father, Mrgt. 
        and Amos purchased a farm in Ohio.  After the birth of their first child,
        Joseph, Amos was drafted into the Civil War.  He was held a prisoner 
        At Vicksburg.  When he came home, they moved to KS and Amos
        Went to work for the railroad.  After Mrgt died, he married Nancy 
         Jane Cooley.  In his memoirs, Amos refers to Mrgt as his “blue-eyed
         Girl.”  Mrgt and Amos had 8 children.  Thank you to June for info on

Bucyrus Evening Telegraph 12/3/1908: “Ollie Dewalt, wife 
and son were the guests of Henry Bogan and wife and Frank 
Bogan and wife Thanksgiving Day.”

BET 3/15/1906: Borts-Elsie Bogan wedding occurred at Rev.
Jamison’s home at North Robinson on Wednesday.  “The 
Wedding was a quiet affair, there being no attendants or guests.”
The couple visited her parents Mr and Mrs Samuel Bogan (1 
Mile east of N. Robinson) until this afternoon.  Dinner will be
at the groom’s parents’.  “Both bride and groom are worthy 
young people and have many friends who wish them a happy
future.  Mr and Mrs. Borts will make their home for the present
with the groom’s parents in Whetstone Tp.”

In the Bucyrus newspaper, 23 Apr. 1901:  "Roy Bogan is in critical
condition and it is thought that he will not live the day out."

There is an old cemetary behind the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church
near Lovettsville, VA with 11 Bogers buried there: Jacob, James,
John, several Mary's, Michael, Philip, and 2 Samuels.
