In the beginning...

In a land and time far away, there was once a great kingdom called Henksland. The emperor of this world was the best emperor that there could ever be... But one day, a new man came into town. He said that he was from a far away Kingdom, and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. When he got to Henksland, much to his dismay, he was greeted happily, and treated as royalty. As he stayed, he liked the place more and more, until he didn’t want to go back. This man was being treated better than the emperor, Emperor Sertcy, that is, and Sertcy was becoming tired of it, so he thought of a nasty little trick.

He invited the man, Inteljan Eltar, to come stay at the castle, so he accepted, packed his haversack, and headed towards Castle Thardon for his stay. When he arrived, he was greeted thoroughly, inspected, and showed to the guest quarters. He was then lead to the Dining hall to have his evening meal. That night, while everyone was asleep, Inteljan went exploring, and happened to stumble into a trap door, where he was dropped into the dungeon. What Sertcy didn’t know was that there was a hidden passage that leads from the dungeon to the throne room, and another to the king's quarters, and since Inteljan was an Elf, he realized this immediately, and entered it. Sertcy met him at the throne room, pulled a sword, and yelled "Heich Tunil!" Then, helplessly, Inteljan sprinted for the door to the main hall, but was stopped by a barricade of four guards. Being an Elf, he ducked under their sword swings, then ran for the window. He jumped out, only to have arrows rained on him from above. Then he disappeared into thin air, never to be seen again...

After this, Sertcy has built a huge military, and became very strict on the people of Henksland. Some of the people have moved away, but most have since joined the military, or have begun working for the monarchy. One crystalwhite eve, Jolney, the goddess of peace, realized that Sertcy was trying to destroy all remote threats to his ultimate power, and was becoming too powerful for her own good, and was threatening the power of the deities, causing great anger among the gods. So Jolney had a talk with Socfroy, Emperor of gods, asking him to create a new planet for the good Elves of Henksland to get away from Sertcy, and rebuild their kingdom. Socfroy picked up a piece of Henksland, and gave it to Trelon, god of nature. Trelon took the dirt, and formed a ball, he then said With this ball of molded dirt, I command a new world to begin formation. The ball then flew from his hands up into the sky, growing all the way. Then it finally stopped moving, and reached its size. Then Trelon had a talk with Shendon, goddess of water, asking her to add water to cover one third of the planet (hence the name Shendor). So it was done, and a new planet was created, and the good people of Henksland now had a place to go.

There was only one problem, how to keep Sertcy from entering this new world. Now all of the gods were thinking deeply about this, meanwhile, Sertcy was still gaining power, and was nearly an Immortal and all-powerful being. The gods posted massive Sentinels at the gates to the new world, so that they could censor who enters, and keep Sertcy out. Sertcy was a very powerful wizard, and could defeat the Sentinels without a problem, so the gods made them more and more powerful, until they were almost immortal as well. So Jolney evacuated all of the good elves to the new world, and closed the gates behind them. Sertcy, being so powerful, attempted to destroy the gates, and heavily damaged them. By this time, Sertcy was immortal, and nobody could defeat him. Shendon built new water gates, that only allowed people with a good alignment to pass through. These gates could never be destroyed, and Sertcy couldn’t pass through. Every time That an evil creature attempted to pass through, it would be pushed back out, lose all magical items, and up to two hundred years of its life. Undead creatures, or anything simalar would be destroyed permanently, and will dock the creator three spells/day.

The people were so happy, that they named the new world after Shandon, calling it Shendor, and they have pledged never to let anything bad happen to it. And so far, nothing has...
