Hello, I am Mark "RedOwle" Norman, or Uguku jiGiGaGe in the Jalagi/Kituwah Dialect (Cherokee). I am a descendant of the
Ani-YunWiya or "Real People" of the First Nations. I also have Blackfoot, Scotch, and Irish ancestors.
I am a priest and follow the teachings handed down by other priests and elders of the tradition. I operate the Ani-KwataNi Mission in Chattanooga, Tennessee, as well as the Bujinkan MasaYoshi Dojo (nine families or ryu of ancient Japanese Martial Arts tradition). The Grandmaster promoted me to Godan at TaiKai '96 and awarded me the title of Shidoshi. I am known as "MasaYoshi" or Heart of Justice and teach several long time students in my home. They take the knowledge back to their own martial arts families and pass along the traditions in the old style (non-commercialized).
I am 38 years old, 5'10" tall, 190 lbs, dark features and blue eyes. I have been divorced for years and have two very good children. My daughter, "Dawn of a New Day" is 19 and is a 4.0 student at the University. My son, "Wolf Stands Like Bear" is 14 and is the counties 8th grade wrestling star, (he is my head martial arts student). They both live with their good mother.
I love nature and being outdoors in Any Kind of Weather! My favorite animals are Owls / Hawks, Puma (Cougar or Mountain Lions), Wolves, and horses. Hiking, backpacking, climbing, and
riding are my favorite outdoor activities. Indoors, I love fine food, movies, music, dancing, drama, theatre, opera, concerts, ballet, working out with weights, running the treadmill, and abs classes. I am a sincere romantic with a
sensuous and passionate nature, honest in character, and loving in spirit!
