| Well. What can I say? Ah Wai had never been to a black tie
dinner before. So this was a first. We had to rent his dinner jacket.
(Anecdote: woman at the shop actually said his Cantonese was worse than
mine!!!)
Then that night, I loaned him a shirt, studs and collar. We had hesitated over his borrowing my shirt after all he had a full build, while I was a walking beanpole. But the when I put the shirt on him - it fit! All I could say was: "Your build is what I am supposed to be..." I hope he enjoyed it - cos wherever he goes to for his further education, he will be wining and dining like this. PS He also drank more wine than he had ever drunk before. And also found a wine that he likes. Unfortunately, it has to be an Alsation Gewurztraminer - not the easiest name to remember! |
