A philosophy I fail to fully implement every time. I wrote this down as a signature for my e-mail. I felt I needed to state in words what my preferred outlook in life was.
There are too many people whose actions have led me to pursue this philosophy; and two events in my life certainly contributed to it as well.
I have been brought up to work hard now, because it will mean better exam results, which means better prospects for the next stage in life. All the way, from young, from primary 5 assessment exams to Lower Cert to O levels etc through work.
All this while, I would meet friends who seemed to have it better than I did, who enjoyed life more. But I always said I was working for a better future.
But what if the future never comes? If I'm always living for tomorrow, what about today? What about smelling the roses? And what if tomorrow never comes - or if the future never materializes: Uncle Tim, Anselm, Kar Hing, Morayo - all passed away with many dreams unfulfilled.
