| A year in preparation, this release is an attempt to consolidate Chan's position, slightly eroded after the lackluster performance last year of Pushed to the Limits, which was criticised for veering a tad too far on the alternative side. Therefore, in her latest, Chan and producer Billy Koh have pulled back and come out with something similar to her breakthrough album, Heartache. As usual, Chan manages to inject a western feel to her material, thereby distinguishing herself from other Chinese female pop artistes. The brilliant title track aside, 'Lost Feeling' revels Chan's forte to scale the register, switching with deceptive ease between her real voice and falsetto. A- |
