1989 Jun Enters the Inter-College Songwriting Competition finals & is talent-scouted by Mr Ng Guan Seng, Director of local music company, Ocean Butterflies Production Pte Ltd (OBP)
Dec Lead vocalist for "Count On Me, Singapore", produced by OBP & showcased in the "Sing Singapore 1990" album
1990 Begins recording commercial jingles & voice-overs, mainly produced by OBP 
1991 Jul Enrolls in LaSalle School of Drama as its pioneer batch - undergoes 2 years of intensive training in the performing arts, laying the foundation for her singing career 
1992 Feb Signs on as a Singer with OBP as her management company
Mar Performs an excerpt from "Miss Saigon" for His Royal Highness Prince Edward at arts venue, the Substation, in Singapore
1993 May Plays Sally Brown in musical "Snoopy" at the Raffles Hotel's Jubilee Hall
Sep Releases debut Mandarin album, "Do Not Destroy the Harmony" in Singapore & Malaysia
1994 Mar Plays Rapunzel in musical "Into The Woods" at Victoria Theatre
Aug Records station theme song for Singapore's highest-rated Chinese radio station, FM 93.3
Sep Receives "Media Recommendation - Best Newcomer" at the 933 Hit Awards '94 in Singapore
Nov Releases second album "Heartache" in Taiwan, Singapore & Malaysia - title track "Heartache" stays on the Taiwan pop charts for 20 weeks & sells 200,000 copies within 2 months - Kit is crowned by the Taiwan media as the new Queen of Chinese pop & a worthy successor to Faye Wong & Sandy Lam
1995 Jan Holiday in the west-coast of America
Apr Releases "Heartache" album in Hong Kong & breaks into a market dominated by Cantopop - once again, the title track tops many TV & radio pop charts
May Performs a series of Mandarin pop concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum, wooing critics & audiences with her powerful "live" singing
Jun Releases third album "Cornered" in Taiwan, Hong Kong , Singapore & Malaysia - it remains her best-selling Mandarin album in Hong Kong & further seals her position as a leading Chinese pop artiste
Aug Records theme song for the Chinese-speaking Channel 8 of the Television Corporation of Singapore (TCS)
Sep Receives "Best Local Artiste" at the 933 Hit Awards '95 - one of her title tracks, "Worried", also wins "Best Lyrics"

Receives "Best Chinese Song - Silver Award for 'Heartache' " at the Hit Radio FM 99.7 Pop Music Awards '95 in Hong Kong

1997 Mar-May  Plays principal role Phoenix in Asia's first Cantonese musical "Snow.Wolf.Lake" to critical acclaim - runs for 43 nights in Hong Kong - main cast also includes superstars Jacky Cheung & Sandy Lam 
Apr Receives "World Best Chinese Female Artiste" at the 8th Gold Hit Awards '97 in Taiwan
Jun Comic book "Kitstuff" is launched by Comix Factory, the people behind local comic icon, Mr Kiasu - the main character is inspired by Kit, making her the first local artiste to endorse a comic character
Jul Performs at the Miss Hong Kong '97 pageant - the first beauty pageant after the Hand-Over - Hong Kong artistes Aaron Kwok & Kelly Chen also performed.

Invited by Ministry of Information & The Arts (MITA) to sing the theme song for the nation-wide "Speak Mandarin Campaign '97 and '98" 
Aug Performs for the National Day Post-Parade Concert at National Stadium - broadcasted "live" on national TV
Sep TV commercial appearance in the "Speak Mandarin Campaign '97" ad - other celebrities featured are local TV stars, James Lye & Wong Lilin 
Oct Trip to Melbourne 
Nov Reprises her role in musical "Snow.Wolf.Lake" - runs from 21-27 Nov at the Singapore Indoor Stadium - features original cast, but Sandy Lam is replaced by Hong Kong TV actress-singer Chan Chung Ling - Kit impresses local media & audiences with her charismatic "live" singing & stage presence 

A one-hour TV special "Kit Chan Mini-Concert" is broadcasted on TCS Channel 8 during primetime - Kit sings a selection of her Mandarin hits, plus unplugged renditions of three Jacky Cheung songs & the English musical number "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" 

"Kitstuff" autograph-signing on 29 Nov at the Singapore International Book Fair at the World Trade Centre

Dec Releases first Cantonese album "Revelation" in Hong Kong - embarks on an extensive publicity drive spanning Hong Kong, Singapore & Malaysia - "Kitstuff" is also launched in Hong Kong with a brand-new cover illustration 

Performs "live" with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra - the show is then released as a VCD & CD called "The Phil & 4 Stars - the Perfect Match" Hong Kong artistes Mark Lei, William So & Joyce Lee.

Performs in a Hong Kong TV special on current singing sensations - also features Hong Kong's Ronald Cheng, Taiwan's Valen Hsu & Singapore's Mavis Hee.

1998 Jan Receives a Hit Radio pop music award & a TVB Top 10 Hit award in Hong Kong
Feb Kit goes to Canada (Vancouver & Toronto) :
- To perform in charity shows for the Chinese in Canada
- For a HKTVB special featuring HK artiste Miriam Yang Qian Hua & herself, a kind of MTV travelogue shot entirely on-location in Canada
 
Mar Back in Singapore for an open-air live concert at NUS - first-ever faculty band, the Medic Band, provides the music - up to 2,000 student fans cheer on
May Becomes the first local celebrity to endorse the prestigious Swiss-made Ebel timepieces

Releases her second Cantonese album Dreams & Memories - this time, it features all new works including a rock ballad - a first for Kit

Also releases a single Home in Singapore she sings it in both Mandarin & English - composed by the talented Dick Lee, the CD is in aid of the National Arts Council (NAC) fund it is also heavy-publicised via radio air-play & its MTV seen frequently on Channels 5 & 8 (there are two versions one in English, one in Mandarin)
 

July Press conference in Hong Kong for Kits new musical The Legend it is inspired by the late Teresa Teng -  slated for a 12-night run starting 12 Nov 98 at the HK Coliseum, Kit will perform in both Cantonese & Mandarin

Aug Certainly a career highlight, Kit performs a special bilingual version of Home at the National Stadium during the National Day celebrations on 9 Aug 

Releases her 6th Mandarin album Deeply Involved in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore & Malaysia to great media fanfare after all, its been almost 2 years since her previous Mandarin album.
