Women's Voices

Poetry

You said "if I believed in those things I'd say that woman has a halo"
I said "yeah she's really blonde"
Then I go out to join the others
I am the others
And that's not easy
I don't know what you saw
I need somebody who sees me
I will not be afraid of women.

A Brief Note

This section is devoted to Women's Voices. Please feel free to submit your poetry as well as any other writing. I think it's really important for every woman to have a voice. Please indicate in your e-mail whether you want your real name to be used and that I have permission to post your poem. Also, please only submit things that YOU have written. Let your voice be heard!

"Never Again"

-anonymous

Sticks and stones
did break my bones
and how your words once hurt me

But now that i am stronger
and fear you no longer
your words fall hard on deaf ears

You thought you were strong
but you never knew
how strong I am, much more so than you

The past is gone
that chapter closed
the book is far from over
