WAXING:
Tools needed:
1. Iron *not to be used for clothes again*
2. Wax
3. Scraper *best if plastic or plexiglass and wide*
4. S.O.S. Pad
Procedures:
First see what kind of place you will be riding in and
use the right amount of wax. If you dont know how much
to use, ask someone who does or go the easy way and buy
a wax for all conditions.
Now set the Iron to about medium or the cotton setting,
just so it isnt steaming. Now that the Iron has heated up
put the bar against the iron. If the wax is smoking, turn
down your iron. Now let the wax drip onto the base of your
board. Let the wax melt in a line or drops all the way down
your board just enough to spread over the base of your board.
Working from the nose to the tail, use the iron to even
the coat over the whole base. Dont go to fast. Now Allow
the board to cool all the way.
You are now ready to scrape your board. What you want to
do is press a lot of the wax into the board while removing
the access wax. Start at the nose. Scrape in the direction
of the tail. You dont have to press hard to get the job
done though.
After you have scraped the board smooth, use that S.O.S.
pad you have *even a sock will work if need be* to polish
all the wax. Go in long, smooth strokes from tip to tail.
Then take all the wax off the edge of your board.
There!! you are done! not to hard is it?? Just remember
that the more you wax your board the longer your base will
stay in good shape!
Binding Screws:
Always check your binding screws before you go boarding!
Lots of places now put a little nail polish on the
threads and that will keep them tighter then a lid on a pickle jar!.
Lighter board:
So you getting tired of riding with about a pound of
snow on your board? Just put a thin coat of Furnature
polish on the TOP of your board and all that snow wont stick!
Getting Up:
Having trouble getting up after the hard fall?? Well here
are some tips that can help you with your problem! There are 3
easy tips I can give you.
1. This one is called the Thrust. What you do is make sure your
boards across the hill. Now lean back and push yourself up.
When you stand up make sure you stand on both feet with
even pressure. You want to do it fast!
2. This is called the Pull up. You lean forward, take
your back hand and grabbing your toe edge. Then pull
with your back hand and push off the ground with your other
hand...It will feel like you are going to stand on your
hands but it will still work.
3. This last one is called the Roll Over. I would say this
is the easiest one. Just roll over to your knees.
make sure your board is across the hill. Now just
stand up on your toe edge.
