Love's Contradiction

                  How can I trust thee when thou hast hurt me?
                  I have never wanted anything more
                  than to love thee for an eternity.
                  Thou art the only woman I adore.
          
                  Yet thou continue to put me through pain.
                  I gave thee my heart, thou threw it away.
                  Said thou love me but I try to refrain
                  from bringing uninvited tears to stay.

                  Foolish am I who try to love again,
                  the same girl who hast paralyzed my heart
                  Why risk again I cannot comprehend,
                  but my love for thee is true from the start.
                       
                     Thou said thy heart tells thee that thou love me.
