A Poet's Story

07/04/00

Once upon a summer night A lone star shines its radiant light underneath the vast dark sky a man gazes at the star and sighs He closes his eyes and there he prays but his prayer hasn't been answered to this day He often asks himself why the girls he loved had all said good-bye A lonely cry that echoes in vain for no one knows of his heartaches and pain Why does he loves and continues to wait for his white Dove Why not settle for a Sparrow or Pigeon Why mingle with birds of another region? His dogmatic heart will not let go Why love white Doves only he knows He once found love but set her free Two locks with no keys weren't meant to be Her insensitivity cannot be blamed for her heart he failed to tame Yet another summer creeps upon time but these heartaches and scars he cannot sublime He feels tranquil yet lonesome when it rains for unrequited love is too painful to sustain.
