Pick of the Week
(or any time period in which i feel like keeping it)

Every week or so I'm gonna share some literature with you...oh come on, you gotta learn! anyway, here's this weeks pick and if you are so inclined, visit lit pick's ARCHIVES. Anyway, on to:

The Shining by Stephen King

It's time to get a little trashy! But honestly, some King books are really entertaining and great to read. Life can't always be so serious, afterall. I've only read 4 King books, but so far this is my favorite. I don't want to give anything away, because it's quite suspensful, so the following passage isn't a crucial moment in the plot, but it's still interesting. On a final note: I have not seen the movie. I don't know how it turns out, so my enthusiasm is for the book itself.

Tony was somewhere in the darkness.
(This inhuman place makes human monsters. This inhuman place)
repeating the same incomprehensible thing over and over.
(makes hukan monsters.)
Falling through darkness again, now accompanied by the heavy pounding thunder that was no longer the boiler but the sound of whistling mallet striking silk papered walls, knowcking out whiffs of plaster dust. Croucing helplessly on the blue-black woven jungle rug.
(Come out)
(This inhuman place)
(and take your medicine!)
(makes human monsters.
)

C'est tout.

If you have any questions, just email me. I will be happy to talk about (or rather, type about it!) Also, if you would like to read more stuff, visit the archives.
