Memorial's Jason Louth wins Fall Classic- September 23, 2000: Memorial's Jason Louth shot a 67 on Saturday at Colony Creek Country Club to finish with a two-day total of 146 and claim medalist honors. Louth edged San Antonio Reagan's Chris Garza, who had taken the first-round lead with a 75 at the Victoria Country Club on Friday, but finished with a 147 after shooting a 72 in Saturday's second round. Reagan ran away with the team title, shooting a 302-301 for a two-day total of 603. Corpus Christi King was second with a 320-308-628. Memorial Blue (321-310) and San Antonio Churchill (316-315) each shot 631, but Memorial captured third place because of a lower score with its fifth man. Memorial Blue's Caleb Etheredge opened with an 84 before finishing with a 77 for a 161. Matt Hillyer had a 82-81-163, Wes Pennington shot 76-88-164 and Wes Hendrix had a 95-85-180. |
