Hi Welcome to Jerry and Alice's Ireland page. Sit back and enjoy the pictures.

We left home on the 18th of May for a trip to Ireland . Took off at 6:30 PM for London on a Boeing 747.

The wing of our plane at sundown over the Atlantic Ocean

There we met our friend Elaine and transfered to a smaller plane to fly to Cork Ireland where we landed in the early afternoon.

We rented a car and drove to the Victoria Hotel in downtown Cork or as they say in Ireland "City Centre".

This was quite an experience driving on the left hand side and not having many signs to let us know where we were. lol

After staying there one day and sleeping off the jet lag it was off to our Thatched Roof Cottage in Mitchelstown, about 35 miles north of Cork. This is a picture of the Cottage.

Here are a few pictures we took at the Croughmore Thatched Roof Cottage.

The owners, Ann and Liam Moher.

An old building on the grounds

Another old building. Near the top of the tree there was a huge Crow's nest maybe measuring 2 ft. across.

The family room and kitchen. The china is Blue Willow from England

We went to several Castles. The Blarney Castle is a popular castle.

The Blarney stone is located there and a lot of people go there to kiss the Blarney Stone.

As you can see it isn't the easiest thing to do. You have to lie on your back and have someone assist you.
