Welcome to Slave Lake
Slave Lake has a load of history behind it. However most of all it is surrounded by very beautiful forests and the lake. In 1998 and 2001 it was surround by fires on all sides and much of the forests suffered alot of damage. In time this will grow back. The lake is a great tourist attraction, as the beach is very clean and a great place to spend a lazy day. There is great fishing as well and several fishing derby's thoughout the summer. In the winter the lake freezes quite solidly and you can go ice fishing. Howver the temps do drop drastically in the winter so if you are going ice fishing you best be dressing very warmly. As well as the ice fishing, we have a ski hill you can go down hill skiing. There is a gun range and dirt biking area here as well for some summer activities. The fires have caused a great deal of damage to our forest and animal life in the area but it is slowly coming back.
