I sincerely hope this greeting finds you all
happy and healthy this holiday season.
This time of year always brings back so many
wonderful memories for me....memories of my childhood
and of the Christmas mornings when we came bouncing
out of bed in our jammies and bare feet, running
to the tree to see what Santa left us...
Mom always had our socks lined up under the tree
in "age" order....Kay, Kim, Dan and Matt.
They were always stuffed full of candy and goodies
and sealed at the top with a piece of fruit....
most often, a bright shiny apple.
My parents always outdid themselves at Christmas time...
They always seemed to come up with just the right gifts,
always making sure we had exactly
what we wanted for Christmas.
As we grow older, our memories remain, but the
meaning of Christmas deepens...
We also find ourselves in a role reversal...
where "we" are the parents and our children are
the anxious ones jumping out of bed, running
for the tree....and "we" are the ones who line
up their stockings under the tree in "age" order.
And we are the ones making sure our children
and grandchildren have the same wonderful
memories of Christmas as we have...
Merry Christmas to all my friends and family...
Love,
Kay
