Hello all net surfers... I
set up this page to help those people who wanna create their on
homepage. Come on, it's really easy and you don't need to be a
computer geek to make one. Below r basically just some links but
definately are helpful to you.
This is a utility to "unzip"
files that have been compressed in ".zip" format. Very
easy to
use, when you download a zipped file, just doiuble-click on the
file, and, if you have winzip
installed, the program will unzip. This tool is very impt as most
of the stuff in the net r
zipped.
For a start, i recommand Microsoft
Frontpage basically it is easy to use and it saves a lot
of time.
This is a web page creation utility. If
you do not have one click here and download HotDog. I recommend
that if you're new to this you download the novice version. It is
very easy to use. Try it.
Now you r ready to make a homepage, but
first you need a space in the internet to let you
show your homepage. Below are some organizations that provide
free homepages:
Now you got the space in the net and the
utility to make a homepage, you're now on the
road! But what makes a homepage special? It is the ability to
present itself and to be a cut above the rest is through the
choice of background, icons, fonts etc etc....
If your looking for new fonts to spice up
your page, head over to The Chank Store. (warning, some material
contained at this site may be considered innapropriate)
If you need almost any background or
icon, head over to the IconBazaar.This site also
contain alot of great links and i advise you to check out them.
After you complete your homepage, there
is still more to be done! You will need a
guestbook for your frens and other net surfers to sign in. You
will also need a counter to
let you know how many people have visited your page...
This guestbook is what i use and would
recommend to anyone with a guestbookless
homepage.
My own counter is provided by my own
Internet Service Provider but there are still manyfree counters
out there.. One of them is the WebTracke.
You have create the most impressive
homepage and wanna show it to the whole world wide web, but b4
you can do that, you need to upload your page. This means that
you need to transfer your homepage from your computer to the
net...
This program is much like ws_ftp, but a
little easier to use. Once you have logged on, you will transfer
your files from your directory on your own computer to your
directory on your Internet Service Provider. This program is very
simple and self-explanatory.

cute_ftp, just a little bit less self-explnatory. It is,
however still very easy to use, and it works very well.
You have your homepage on the net..GREAT!
but you need to advertise your page to
attract people. Your counter number will rise and there will
really be a sense of
satisfaction. Isn't it?
LinkExchange
The Internet Link Exchange is a banner
service for homepages that gives your page and60 million others
publicity. If you want people to see your homepage, this is a
must.
In the beginning, i said that making a
homepage is easy...actually, i lied to you. A good
homepage is never easy, you have to surf for the ideal background
gif, icons, pictures,
midi etc... and it can take up to hours but after your homepage
is done, there is a deep
sense of satisfaction. It is better to learn about a little HTML
and Java as you will be able
to modify your homepage.
