My Thoughts About HugsHugs. A simple act of embracing someone you care about in
your arms. It is an act of true caring. With one Hug so much
can be said. Sometimes the only thing you can do is Hug someone.
It can even replace words. I can remember a time not
to long ago when I was really upset about a situation. I was
ranting and raving to a good friend. I was feeling frustrated,
angry upset and sad and even though it was something that
affected a lot of people I was feeling very much alone. And in
one second a dear friend gave me want I needed the most in the
world a HUG. It might not have solved all the problems or any of
the problems but it made me feel a whole lot better and let me
know someone else was there and cared. Hugs can say much more.
They say I care, I understand, I love you, Hello, Goodbye and
it says all the words we cannot say.
There are many types of hugs. The quick how are you doing hug,
the long goodbye hug. The I understand hug, the hug of passion
and many more. No matter what hug it is almost always it makes
the giver and receiver feel better.
Unfortunately it is reported that most people do not get hugged
enough. It is recommended that we each get one hug a day. I
know I could go for that. There are some people you met when it
is not cool to hug and then when you want to you can't. For
some a hug just isn't natural; it should be. But maybe we should
forget all that and just do it. If we all set out to hug one
person a day we would all get that hug that we need and so would
the other person. It can make a difference in someone's day,
and that someone could be you.
Think about how much you like to be hugged. If you hugged one
person and they felt good, they would probably go out and hug
someone else and they someone else. Pretty soon there is a lot
of hugging going on. Who knows that hug might even come back to
you! So why don't we do that? Why don't we start our own
hugging chain! Start small and think baby steps first hug your
pillow, then your pet, kids, sibling, husband, wife, friend,
co-worker or the mailman. Just do it!
I hear some people laughing and saying no not me. Well for those
people I say okay don't hug. Yes you heard me don't hug. What
I want you to do is to Smile. A smile has the same effect. Not
the fake smile we use when were annoyed. I real smile a smile
that comes from the heart. A smile that puts sparks in your
eyes and a smile that lingers on the face. One smile can make a
word a difference and so can a hug.
Who knows we might just start a revolution!
