JAPAN
I've been fascinated with Japan since I was a child. Godzilla and samuri movies greatly appealed to me. And as I grew older, I learned to respect Japan's culture and its economy. I read and saw movies about as often as possible.
When I was an undergraduate student at SUNY New Paltz I made many Japanese friends. In 1992 one of them, Koji Bando, invited me to visit his family home in Osaka, Japan. It was a great experience, so much so that I decided to return there in the future.
In January 1999, one month after earning my MBA from NKU, I moved to Japan. I signed a one-year contract with Nova (a chain of English language schools) to teach from January 1998 to January 1999. It was the greatest year of my life.
First and foremost, I met my future bride Yukari, who will marry me soon. And I visited 32 cities, climbed to the top of Mount Fuji, attended live Sumo wrestling, visited many temples, shrines, and castles, and did much much more.
