The 4th Annual Kingston Sailing (and eating) Ping - June 15 - 17, 2001 |
|
Don't forget to click on the thumbnails to get the large picture. My apologies for some of the pictures being dark. Friday Night - Tir Nan Og Pub |
|
Never knowing how many pingers will come in early, we started out with a small area |
We soon took over the "fire place room as we expanded the gang |
As most of the group gathered .... |
... remember high school dances when the boys sat at the other side? Martin S, Peter C, Art Wade and Martin from Nova Scotia prop up the bar :-)
|
Our first attempt a a group photo |
Diane (TVOR), Rosemary (Hootie), Pat, Rick, Philip
(Shadow), Shirli (Swirlie), Andrea (Cannylass), Lorraine (Amom), Connie
(Kiwikid), Martin, Tracy, Gerry C, Caroline, Alex C, Vanessa (Blinkie),
Libby, Margaret (Maggy), Peter C.
Missing from photo. Dorothy (Canaduck), Art (H'Art), Ken - and of course me :-) |
Saturday Morning on the docks |
|
|
The group gathers for their safety lecture from Captain Bob before boarding |
Safety exits on both sides |
Seasick bags - over the side - AWAY from the wind!! |
Brave smiles all around :-) |
Remember the bow scene from Titanic? or was this the mast scene from Captain Ron? |
Not sure what Vanessa and Shirli did to Caroline here... |
Lines are thrown and |
sails are dropped, and |
away they go.... This is where those left on shore starting singing the theme song to Gilligans Island LOL |
This is Owera - Captain Marks boat. (I think I got a water spot on my lens here) Mark took out Anita, Guy, Meara, Sheila, Jim, Ian, Callum and Sarah
Isn't she pretty? What a great sail they had. I hope to get pictures from people that were on board soon. Caroline and Vanessa took a had to steering the ship, and Tracy went aloft into the crows nest - can't wait to see those pictures!
Coming ashore at Kingston Yacht Club to check on our dinner arrangements - without the water spot, it's a lovely little club |
As I was heading over away from the club, I caught the two boats side by each in the mist. We were very lucky the storms held off for us, but the skys did get a little dark |
Saturday Afternoon - Ping time at the Kingston Yacht Club!! |
|
I had to show the wonderful buffet that was prepared for us by my brother Mark and his wife, Chris |
The trifle was the navy version - Mount Gay Rum - not sherry :-) |
Our very own watermelon boat!! |
We had lots of wonderful prizes donated by lots of people - Thank you very much ! |
Just general group shots - I'll add names soon. |
|
Around 7:00 we were finishing dinner and getting ready to
set up for PINGO - and of course the battery of my camera died and my
charger was left at home :-(
I'm sure we will see more pictures soon though. There were a lot of cameras around. It took about 10 minutes for the group shot by the time everyone got a picture. |
|
Sunday Morning - The Sports in the Queens Inn |
|
It was not my weekend to have camera luck! This is the only shot I got that you can sort of see the gang. I really enjoying the Omnibus with my breakfast every Sunday morning - it's even better with 40 other Corrie fans!! |
|
By the way - I still have a few pins left. |
