You may go places on the internet and see things that say look! Get this free, and get that free! All sorts of things. Then come the hidden costs. You clicked that free link and find out that you only get it if you buy this, or you have to do that mail-in rebate thing that takes so long to get your money back, that the value of the american dollar has changed by the time you get it. Well me personally, I have found 7 things that are supposed to be free. One I haven't checked out, One you have to enter into a gigantic pool of other people to see who gets one and all of them take time, usually months, till you get your free stuff. But these are free so I'll give you the run down on each. Take your time, browse, read up on this stuff, all of these offers require you to give up some information, so make your own choice. I have done 6 out of 7 of these, so far I have seen results for two, but that's cause I'm waiting for the others.
1) Microsoft Software - With the exception of Windows, Office, and a few others, a lot of Microsoft things are free. Internet Explorer, NetMeeting, Media Player, Outlook Express, FrontPage Express, Chat, all sorts of stuff is free. Check out their site and you'll easily find stuff to download. www.microsoft.com
3) FreeWay
- This is Free Long Distance. Yep, Free to anywhere in the US. Here
are the few catches: To get your free minutes you must listen to advertisements,
about 10 seconds long, for each one they give you 2 minutes. Time is another
thing, once you sign up, you have to wait 2 months till you get your access
number ect. Plus you cannot abuse the free time, no making 2 hour long
calls daily, they have a lot of effort put in to bring you long distance.
A good amount of time is 10 - 30 minutes every 2 days. ADRESS'S SCREW UP,
TIMES LIMITED, NOT WORTH IT. 11/30/99
To find out more or sign up visit their site @ www.broadpoint.com
4) AllAdvantage.com - Well in this case it IS NOT FREE! Well in a sense it is because YOU GET PAID!!! So, here's the deal. You agree to put up a advertisement banner on the bottom of your browser (It's not really big at all) and they pay you 50 cents per hour for a maximum of 40 hours per month to have it up and running. Plus you receive 10 cents per hour for other people you refer. Plus you get 5 cents per hour for everyone they refer up to 4 levels of referrals. The catch is the banner which comes up when you start your browser. Plus you may not "SPAM" unknown people to attract referrals. Every time your account reaches $20.00 they mail you a check and you get paid.
Very nice! I've done this and have made over $70.00 as of the last time
this was updated 11/30/99

5) Free Mouse Pads
- The name explains it all. You give them a little information, and they
mail you a free mouse pad with their advertisers logo or something on it.
Hey, a little variety in the thing you move your mouse on would be nice
eh? NO RESULTS AS OF 11/30/1999 !!!

6) NetZero
- Free Internet access is the game and NetZero is the name, I haven't personally
checked on this one but they are supposed to give you free access to the
net for displaying a banner similar to the all advantage one. This site
may not work but try www.netzero.com
This one is just a bonus
7) USPS
Shipping Materials - Free boxes, stickers, labels,
tape, ect. only catch is that you must ship USPS with these materials,
check it out @ http://supplies.usps.gov/ps/scripts/ebgenpouch.idc
