Only Sixteen
Death overtook her,
instantly.
As her speeding car,
smashed into a tree.
The car wrapped around it,
snug like a ring.
Her head met with the glass,
and bounced back like a spring.
Shards of glass,
flew everywhere.
Did she not know,
the tree was there?
Bones were crushed,
blood was lost.
Pinned against the wheel,
her arms lay crossed.
Her legs were twisted,
mangled and broke.
Her drivers side door,
now one with the oak.
The paramedics arrived,
quickly, to the scene.
They checked her purse, discovering,
this dead girl, was only sixteen.
Her parents were called,
and notified.
That their only daughter,
has tragically died.
She didn't suffer,
and felt no pain.
The parents identified,
what still remained.
Her blood was tested,
the testing was done.
She had been drinking,
just having some fun.
She found her keys,
jumped into the car.
Alcohol does not care,
who we are.
Alcohol doesn't mind,
If you think you can drive.
If you get behind the wheel,
you will not survive.
